CATASTROPHY averted!
We had a fire Saturday, January 25th that burned about an acre of land.
Many THANKS to the Blue Ridge Fire Department for their fast response and especially to one of our residents who saw smoke and called 911!
It appears that ashes were not properly disposed of and this lead to the fire.
Ashes MUST be disposed of properly. They must be dead, stone cold out and put in an approved metal container and disposed of properly at a facility like the Bly Pit at the proper location. NO EXCEPTIONS, NO EXCUSES.
All residents, friends and guests who enjoy our wonderful piece of paradise need to know and adhere to the rules.
Our entire community could be looking like Malibu right now from the careless actions of one individual.
As a reminder to everyone, it is very important that you “limb up” all trees and shrubs on your property at least 6 feet above ground, preferably 10 to 12 feet. Also weed eating a minimum of 25 feet around any structure is advised.
Again, many thanks to the Blue Ridge Fire Department for averting a major catastrophy.
Thank you,
SPR HOA Board
